THE COMMISSIONERS OF WASHINGTON CO. SHOULD CONSIDER BUILDING OFFER FOR PECAN GLEN

A bid for the Pecan Glen Road District Rehabilitation Project will potentially be accepted at the Washington County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday.

Three bids were submitted for the project, the lowest being Schrader Construction Company for $741,915.

In May 2021, Pecan Glen voters approved the issuance of bonds of up to $950,000 to improve roads in the Pecan Glen subdivision.

The ad valorem tax rate for the first year on residents of the subdivision is $0.1500 per $100 of assessment. The tax applies only to residents who live within the boundaries of the road district.

Also on Tuesday, the commissioners will consider appointing the chief appraiser-assesser to calculate the new income tax rate and the voter approval tax rate. They will also vote on the purchase of two used LaRoche pickup trucks for the county maintenance department.
