The suspected blood spatter turns out to be paint; caller concerned about full moon – Greeley Tribune

EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a summary of crime reports from the Greeley Police Department daily logs. Only a few of the hundreds of reports will be used in this weekly column due to space limitations.

August 4

12:45 p.m.: A caller near North 28th Avenue Court and C Street reported two children fishing in an unfished pond and killing fish after playing with them.

2:30 p.m.: A caller in the 900 block of 10th Avenue reported a drunken man urinating on the playground near the church.

4 p.m.: A caller in the 5100 block of 11th Street reported finding blood splatters on the walls and floor of an apartment “suddenly” vacated by the tenant. An officer dabbed at the stains and discovered it was paint.

11:30 p.m.: A caller in the 2000 block of 28th Street reported that a man had thrown an air conditioner out the window.

August 8

7:45 a.m.: A caller near 71st Avenue and 10th Street reported a bald man swinging around a wooden spear and hitting poles.

10:15 a.m.: A caller in the 1700 block of 10th Avenue reported a bat inside a sorority house.

10:30 a.m.: A caller in the 1400 block of East 8th Street said they purchased an RV trailer and found counterfeit money.

3 p.m.: A caller in the 2500 block of 11th Avenue reported seeing a man who had tried to start a fire in a dumpster a few days earlier.

4:30 p.m.: A caller in the 1000 block of 11th Street reported a man trying to attack people with a hammer in the park.

August 10

3h45: A caller in the 6500 block of 29th Street reported a man smoking meth in the gas station restroom.

7am: A caller in the 2400 block of 17th Avenue reported that a full moon meant there would be a lot of traffic at the pharmacy.

2:45 p.m.: A woman near 31st Street Road and 67th Avenue reported that the postman left all mailboxes open and all mail exposed.

7:45 p.m.: A caller in the 1200 block of D Street reported a man’s dog chasing children in the park.

August 11

3:15 p.m.: A caller in the 1000 block of 10th Avenue reported seven people smashing glass bottles in the church parking lot.

7:45 p.m.: A caller in the 2300 block of 9th Street reported that a chicken or rooster had entered the garage. The caller placed the animal in a cat carrier.

9:15 p.m.: A caller near US 34 mile marker 102 reported a man brandishing a gun from his vehicle while swerving down the road.

11:15 p.m.: A man near 18th Street and 8th Avenue reported that two men in white shirts and black shorts chased him on bicycles to his home. He said he didn’t know who these men were.
